Diesel Mechanic

We have an immediate position open for a Diesel Mechanic to work on our fleet of trucks at in Carson, WA. Mechanics interested in secure, steady employment are encouraged to apply. Will be required to spend time at Hood River shop when not needed in Carson.

Pay and Schedule:

• Pay will start between $35-39/hr (DOE)

• Shift is Monday - Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Repairs include but are not limited to,routine maintenanceand repairing engine chassis and body components,hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels and tires.

• Inspects equipment and/or trucks for condition,operations, parts and fluid levels, differentials, final drives, pump drives, and hubs.

• Knowledge ofhydraulicsrepair isREQUIRED.

• Utilizes vehicle computerelectronicssystems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.

• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.

• Completes required paperwork utilizingfleet maintenance softwareprogram associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.

• Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on DriverVehicle InspectionReports.

• Performs maintenance related work as required.

• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate andOSHAstandards.

• Performs required safety protocols while working on vehicles.

• Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

• Work environment - Mostly outdoors, as it is a satellite site. Must be able to work independently with minimal assistance. Sometime will be spent helping at the Hood River shop.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

• Minimum of 2-5+ yearsof diesel mechanic experience

• Must provide own personal tools.

• Welding/fabricationexperience is required

• Must be able to operate diagnosis software for Alisson, International, Freightliner, and Peterbilt systems with minimal assistance
