Operations Machinery Manager - New Build The Operations Machinery Manager is primarily responsible for reviewing, advising and reporting to the Owner Representatives on the quality of construction of machinery, systems and related spaces of the Dolphin Plus class vessels under construction at Eastern Shipbuilding. Owner Representatives include the onsite Project Manager, onsite project team and Program Manager - New Construction at Foss. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to supporting outfitting and spares procurement, preparations for each vessel's mobilization, and preparation for each vessel's entry into service. This is a full-time position that will continue through the duration of the project contract with an anticipated conclusion on or before April 1, 2027. At the mutual discretion of the Project Manager and OM Manager, this position will be reclassified as part-time with an NDA in place. Skills and Abilities:
Minimum Qualifications: This position generally requires a Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in marine transportation, mechanical engineering, science & technology, or a related field and/or 7+ years related experience; advanced knowledge of the project area; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working onboard tugboats is required, and licensing as a chief engineer is highly preferred. Working Conditions: Approximately 25%-50% of the work is conducted in a normal office environment; the remaining 50%-75% is performed in the field around the vicinity of heavy equipment. May be required to work more than a normal workweek, including weekends. Physical/Mental Demands: Requires the ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time and perform typical work in an office environment. For vessels and project onsite work or visits, the ability to climb ladders and over bulwarks, enter confined spaces, work around operating machinery, and perform duties while on board moving vessels is necessary. Ability to move between buildings, ascend/descend stairs and go outdoors in all kinds of weather. Overtime work is required as necessary, including overnight travel and on-call status. Compensation
