Senior Solution-Level Software Systems Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Senior Solution-Level Software Systems Engineer to support the PAE Fires Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Support the development of system-level concepts that provide solutions involving multiple systems across product offices.

• Define external interfaces, system behavior, performance characteristics, and acceptance criteria necessary to support HW and SW engineering teams.

• Support prioritization of capabilities to be worked on during each Program Increment (PI).

• Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to refine and better understand the Initiative and Capability scope.

• Develop concepts utilizing a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach within an Agile software development environment.

• Assemble artifacts and supporting information into Solutions Initiative Documents (SIDs) and Solutions Engineering Documents (SEDs).

• Refine and maintain Jira tickets supporting engineering activities.

• Model capability behavior (SV-1, SV-4) utilizing the MagicDraw MBSE tool.

• Create and modify system behavior models, including Functions and Data Exchanges/Signals.

• Define Acceptance Criteria for Capabilities and establish traceability to modeled behavior.

• Identify Capabilities Description Document (CDD) and System Specification requirements satisfied by capabilities and establish traceability within the model.

• Recommend follow-on Feature tickets for Program Level implementation.

• Facilitate and lead internal and formal reviews of Initiatives and Capabilities.

• Adjudicate review comments and transition approved Capabilities and Features into the backlog utilizing Jira.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, team planning, retrospectives, and prioritization activities.

• Provide support to proposal efforts, including contract re-competes.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.

• 10 or more years of systems engineering or related experience.

• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

• Proficiency using MagicDraw.

• Experience using Jira and Confluence.

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interface with multiple levels of personnel.

• Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoW security clearance.

• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Systems Engineering.

• Experience supporting Army Air and Missile Defense Command and Control systems such as Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), Patriot, FAAD C2, or ADAM.

• Experience integrating Command and Control Systems within a System of Systems architecture.
