OVERVIEW

Support safe, efficient plant operations by maintaining a clean work environment, performing sanitation and utility tasks, assisting with packaging and production activities, completing required documentation, and following GMP, food safety, and safety procedures to ensure the production of safe, quality food.

This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning activities and complete all required documentation.
  • Comply with all GMP, food safety, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform product packaging operations in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
  • Operate a forklift, once certified, and complete production-related documentation, including tote production controls and the magnet cleaning procedure, as well as occasional deliveries and shipments.
  • Support bagging room operations during Operator break periods and respond to metal detector alerts by verifying the rejected bag is removed from the line prior to restart.
  • Perform starch dumping activities using the correct starch and ensure bag fragments or knives do not enter the hopper.
  • Operate the chemical station and perform chemical concentration and bleach mixing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Manage waste in accordance with approved trash disposal methods and site requirements.
  • Follow the GMP color-coding system as follows: blue for food-contact tools; green for trash, general cleaning, sifter tailings waste, and sweepings; black for bathrooms and exterior areas; and orange for glass clean-up (with tools discarded after use).
  • Serve as a backup to the Operator and Material Handler, as needed, to support production continuity.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Assist maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Understand verbal and written communication
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Cleaning experience




WORK EXPERIENCES



  • Experience in Industrial Food Processing Desired
  • Previous forklift experience



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and the Ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
