Job Skills / Requirements
Overview First Coast Security Services is launching a new electronic security integration division and is seeking a Director of Security Integration to build and lead it from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced physical security professional to shape a new business line -- owning strategy, team development, vendor relationships, and P&L performance across a growing portfolio of camera, access control, intrusion, and intercom projects. Based in the Fort Myers, FL area, this role combines the entrepreneurial challenge of a startup with the stability and relationships of an established security services company operating across multiple states. Job Description
- Own the full launch and operational build-out of the integration division, including licensing, insurance, vendor accounts, infrastructure, and initial project pipeline.
- Lead hiring and development of the founding team, including project managers, field engineers, and lead technicians, establishing a culture of accountability and execution quality.
- Drive business development through existing customer relationships, warm-account expansion, and regional referral networks across healthcare, education, government, and multifamily verticals.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery from site survey and estimating through installation, commissioning, documentation, and closeout using repeatable, documented standards.
- Select and manage vendor and platform partners -- including preferred VMS, access control, camera, and intercom systems -- and pursue certifications that unlock better pricing and support.
- Develop a service and recurring revenue program covering preventive maintenance, remote monitoring, firmware management, and lifecycle refresh planning.
- Scale the division through a hub-and-spoke model, deploying trusted leadership and vetted subcontractors into regional markets as backlog supports expansion.
- Report on financial performance including job costing, WIP reporting, margin tracking, and revenue recognition; manage approval thresholds and project controls.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in electronic physical security, with demonstrated leadership in integration, project management, or operations management.
- Hands-on technical fluency across video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and intercom systems -- able to bridge the gap between design, installation, and customer expectations.
- Proven ability to build and lead small teams, including hiring, performance management, and field accountability.
- Experience estimating and delivering security integration projects, including scoping, budgeting, subcontractor management, and closeout documentation.
- Familiarity with Florida licensing requirements for low-voltage/limited energy systems and willingness to pursue the Florida Limited Energy Systems Specialty license if not already held.
- Strong relationship skills and a track record of generating business through customer trust, referrals, and market presence -- not solely through a traditional sales function.
- Proficiency with project management, CRM, and document management tools (Smartsheet or equivalent).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites across Southwest Florida and beyond as the division scales.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications or dealer credentials with platforms such as Genetec, Brivo, Axis, Hanwha, Motorola, or Lenel.
- Existing relationships with distribution partners such as ADI, Wesco/Anixter, ScanSource, or Graybar.
- Experience developing recurring revenue programs including managed video, monitoring coordination, or inspection and compliance services.
- Familiarity with WIP accounting, percent-complete revenue recognition, and job costing in a project-based business model.
- Background in physical security guarding or integrated security services, with understanding of how technology and staffing complement each other.
