What you will accomplish as a Senior FP&A Analyst at TAPCO

The Senior Financial Analyst delivers actionable financial and operational insights that support revenue growth, drive efficiency, and further TAPCO's mission to connect roadway infrastructure and save lives. This person will act as the finance business partner for TAPCO's software business while also supporting enterprise-wide financial reporting and planning with budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, KPI reporting, and strategic insights. The ideal candidate brings strong financial modeling and business partnering skills, software industry experience, and preferably a solid accounting foundation.

  • Purpose of Role: This role partners cross-functionally with software, commercial, and finance leaders to deliver data-driven insights, improve financial visibility, and support decision-making across TAPCO's software business. In parallel, the role contributes to the enterprise-wide financial reporting and planning process by supporting financial statement analysis, producing budgets and forecasts, and completing related variance analysis.
  • Main Function: Provide financial planning and analysis support for the software business, including forecasting, performance analysis, and KPI reporting, while also assisting with enterprise-wide financial statement analysis and management reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance business partner for TAPCO's software business, supporting leaders with financial insights, decision support, and performance analysis
  • Build and maintain financial models, budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans related to software revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and key business drivers
  • Analyze software business performance, including revenue trends, recurring revenue metrics, customer and product profitability, and variance to budget and forecast
  • Partner with business stakeholders to develop reporting and dashboards that track key software KPIs and translate results into actionable recommendations
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by preparing financial statement analysis, variance reporting, and other management reporting as needed
  • Ensuring timely, accurate, and complete reporting of key metrics and business results
  • Support financial statement analysis, investigate variances, and identify issues impacting reporting accuracy or business performance, especially for the software business
  • Help maintain and improve reporting processes, data quality, and forecast visibility to enhance efficiency, scalability, and compliance
  • Collaborate with FP&A, accounting, and operational teams to ensure alignment between management reporting, financial reporting, and underlying business activity
  • Support ad hoc financial analyses for leadership, Board, and Executive Team needs
  • Participate as a member of the FP&A team, collaborating with others to produce a broad scope of financial and business analysis while continuously improving FP&A support for teams across TAPCO
  • Contribute to the development of presentation materials for Board and Executive Team meetings

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; CPA or progress toward CPA is preferred
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, financial reporting, or a related finance role
  • Experience supporting a software, SaaS, technology, or other software-driven business preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and knowledge of GAAP preferred
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required; experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and BI platforms such as Power BI preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build financial models, interpret large data sets, and communicate actionable insights to business and finance leaders
  • Experience improving reporting processes, automating workflows, or enhancing data quality in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Experience in a private-equity backed company, preferred
  • Experience in an M&A environment and/or a foundation in private equity, investment banking, or transaction advisory services, preferred

  • Knowledge of software business processes and strategy
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, consolidations, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity, accuracy, and deadlines
  • Ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
  • Advanced Excel-based modeling skills and proficiency working with financial systems and reporting tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while driving continuous improvement in finance processes
