Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and based at our Eau Claire, Wisconsin facility, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing product, part, material, and process quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products. You will directly supervise a team of two inspectors and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks.

Concretely, you will:

  • Lead and develop your team: motivate team members to achieve organizational and personal goals; develop and implement timelines to achieve targets; delegate tasks effectively; promote team concepts through collaboration, communication and positive morale; empower staff with the skills, product knowledge, and confidence to maximize their potential; provide the necessary training to support their growth.
  • Drive ISO certification and compliance: facilitate the ISO certification process, developing policies and procedures for full implementation and compliance; act as ISO Management Representative for the site.
  • Supervise the Inspection Department: directly manage two inspectors; maintain a team skilled in state-of-the-art inspection techniques and Quality Assurance policies; minimize scrap and rework, increase profitability, improve quality, and assure customer acceptance of products.
  • Continuously improve quality processes: analyze all procedures, inspection techniques, and inspection equipment; implement improvements that increase inspection effectiveness; establish standards and procedures for continuous improvement (CIT).
  • Manage inspection systems: maintain in-process, receiving, and outgoing inspection systems, equipment, gauges, records, and print files in accordance with company Quality Assurance policies.
  • Engage the supply chain: confer with representatives of material and component suppliers to obtain information related to supply quality, vendor capacity, and vendor quality standards.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance: audit compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations and uphold the TLD Code of Ethics and information security standards aligned with ISO 27001.

The Profile We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience focused on leading quality assurance, ISO certification, and inspection processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • ISO 9001 certification experience.
  • Expertise in leading a progressive quality team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid command of Microsoft Office and experience with an ERP system.
  • Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations is a plus.

Your Place in the Organization

You report directly to the Chief Operating Officer of the Eau Claire site and directly manage two inspectors. You work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Materials, and Finance, and interface with suppliers and customers on quality matters. You serve as the ISO Management Representative for the site, with direct accountability for certification and audit readiness.
