Job Description

Location: North Carolina (candidate must reside in North Carolina)

Schedule: Part-time, On-call, Non-exempt | Candidate will have the flexibility to work from their home office

Travel: Candidate can expect to travel about 50% of the time throughout North Carolina

This will be a project specific assignment which is expected to last 2-4 months.

What You'll Do



  • Provide relocation assistance services in compliance with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 and applicable project guidelines and regulations
  • Acquire Right-of-Way rights for federal projects in accordance with project guidelines and regulations
  • Support the Project Manager and project team throughout the right-of-way lifecycle for federally funded road projects
  • Prepare real estate documents, conduct property ownership and boundary research, and coordinate with property owners and their representatives regarding relocations
  • Perform administrative tasks such as preparing legal documents, reports, and correspondence; attending meetings; managing project files; and maintaining accurate data entry and documentation
  • Engage in verbal and written communications with customers to provide high-quality customer service and ensure clear, professional interactions

Minimum Requirements



  • Minimum of one (1) yearof right of way acquisition experience
  • Active North Carolina Real Estate license
  • Active North Carolina Notary or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems
  • Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high amounts of computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. This is a largely sedentary role; however, the employee is occasionally required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This employee is required to occasionally travel to government buildings which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations.
