ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Supervisor, Broadcast Operations (Bilingual) is a hands-on technical leader responsible for overseeing master control playout and operational workflows within the FOX Technology Center. This role serves as a senior escalation point for operational and technical issues, making critical real-time decisions that protect on-air integrity and support live revenue-generating broadcasts.

Working closely with Engineering, FOX Sports, Entertainment, and News teams, you will help test, validate, and operationalize new technologies and distribution solutions. You will leverage deep expertise in playout automation, graphics systems, server-based playout, and content distribution workflows to maintain operational excellence in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, operational leadership, and sound decision-making during live events and high-pressure situations.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Media Assembly & Distribution

  • Oversee daily media ingest, processing, preparation, playout, and distribution activities for live and non-live content
  • Supervise live sports and event operations within Master Control to ensure seamless execution
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational and technical issues during assigned shifts
  • Make critical real-time decisions to maintain on-air continuity and protect live revenue streams
  • Quickly restore services and coordinate recovery efforts during technical failures
  • Monitor, configure, test, and troubleshoot distribution systems to maximize reliability and operational performance
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflow documentation, and operational guidelines
  • Support training and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the Master Control team

Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery initiatives
  • Partner with Engineering teams to evaluate, test, and implement new technologies and operational workflows
  • Work closely with Engineering Operations to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Collaborate with Media Operations teams to establish and maintain operational best practices
  • Provide exceptional support to internal stakeholders across FOX Sports, FOX News Media, FOX Entertainment, and other business units
  • Coordinate closely with Master Control Supervisors, Operators, Technical Operations leadership, and Live Integration teams to ensure operational alignment
  • Partner with Incident Managers and external stakeholders to facilitate timely communication and issue resolution

Performance Improvement

  • Utilize operational data and dashboards to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor service performance and operational metrics
  • Support process improvement initiatives that increase reliability, efficiency, and scalability
  • Contribute to team and departmental objectives and key results

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 3+ years of experience in a senior broadcast operations, master control, or technical operations role
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English
  • Experience with media operations and technical transmission systems
  • Strong knowledge of Media Supply Chain workflows, Live Sports Production, and OTT distribution systems
  • Deep understanding of master control playout automation systems
  • Experience supporting live event and live sports operations
  • Ability to manage escalations and make sound decisions in high-pressure environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across playout, distribution, and broadcast systems
  • Ability to translate business requirements into operational and technical solutions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as 4K, HDR, and HDR10+
  • Familiarity with industry standards including AMWA and SMPTE
  • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity operations
  • Experience testing and validating new broadcast and distribution technologies
  • Knowledge of IP-based media and broadcast workflows

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $61.50-65.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
