Job Summary

The Manufacturing Technician 2 is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through the assembly, testing, inspection, and rework of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies. This role works closely with engineering and production teams to perform assembly operations, follow detailed work instructions, maintain quality standards, and support production schedules. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading skills, and experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Perform mechanical assembly of subassemblies and top-level assemblies in accordance with engineering specifications and manufacturing procedures.
  • Execute manufacturing operations following detailed work instructions, operating procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and operational support activities as directed.
  • Perform rework, inspections, and quality verification activities as required.
  • Collect, record, and maintain production and quality-related data accurately.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, assembly drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensions, positioning, and assembly accuracy.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment and material handling equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to support safety and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, cost, and production scheduling.
  • Collaborate effectively within team-based and individual work environments.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of assembly-related issues.
  • Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of manufacturing assembly experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and assembly skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to collect and document production data accurately.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain required regulatory authorizations associated with assigned responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required by business needs.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED required.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of two years of manufacturing assembly experience required.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly preferred.
  • Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, industrial manufacturing, or related production environments preferred.
  • Experience using manufacturing execution systems (MES), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, or similar production software preferred.
