The New Hanover County Attorney's office is seeking a detail-oriented, administrative professional with advanced computer proficiency to serve as an Administrative Coordinator supporting both the Legal and Risk Management divisions.
Reporting to the County Attorney, this position provides support by performing administrative tasks to include screening phone calls, mail, and email and initiating appropriate responses; preparing, typing, editing, and proofreading correspondence; notifying the county attorney of significant matters, messages, documentation, or other information; and conducting special projects as directed.
Additional responsibilities for this role include:
- Coordinating and maintaining calendars to include scheduling appointments, meetings, conferences, hearings, or other activities; updating calendars on a regular basis and notifying parties involved about changes; and distributing event calendars as required;
- Providing contract support and sending and receiving contractor prequalification applications;
- Processing purchase orders and invoices;
- Assisting with budget preparation, entering budget information into MUNIS, and managing budget throughout the fiscal year;
- Arranging travel and conference registrations and reservations to include preparation of itineraries, expense reports, and other related documents;
- Serving as the department's HR InterFace, an extension of the county's Human Resources department, and performing functions within the areas of recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, performance review processes, leave administration, payroll processing, personnel record management, and more;
- Ordering office supplies;
- Performing other duties of a similar nature or level;
- Performing work during emergency/disaster situations.

Hours:
Expected hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday; however, must be available
to report for emergency work assignments during emergency situations.
Salary Information:
The
hiring
range
for this position is
$44,152 - $59,605.50 plus a competitive benefits package.
Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.

Qualifications
-
Required Education and Experience:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to five (5) years of related administrative experience and sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and have the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
