GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: To determine and implement electrical designs that meet cost and schedule objectives and customer requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews customer requirements including customer specifications, Statements of Work, and interface drawings in order to ensure compliance with contract.
- Attends job kick-off meetings and participates in design reviews with customers.
- Support the preparation and update task lists and schedules.
- Works to plan schedules and budgets on assigned programs.
- Designs AC & DC electrical systems from customer specifications.
- Develop system layouts, subassembly configurations and packaging criteria.
- Prepares wiring diagrams, schematics, and wire lists.
- Provides design input to mechanical engineers and CAD design team.
- Reviews and approves drawings.
- Supports production of prototype and electrical system build.
- Interfaces with other departments to resolve questions and technical issues.
- Creates technical proposals, technical materials, procurement specifications and electrical analyses.
- Supports the Sales department in proposal development and engineering estimates.
- Reviews vendor/shop drawings, quotes, and proposals.
- Creates electrical long leads and Cost Schedule Impact Logs (CSILis.)
- Submits Engineering Change Proposals (ECPis, RFWis, etc.).
- Interfaces with customers, program management, and contracts to resolve customer issues.
- Contributes to product improvement, new product development and product standardization.
- Failure analysis with clear problem interpretation and robust solution proposals.
- Provides risk assessment and mitigation for electrical design engineering tasks.
- Support company and customer test development and validation.
- Support Electromagnetic shielding and filtering.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Required Experience:

- Thorough knowledge of circuit simulation programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
- 2+ years of professional engineering experience required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Office environment.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Travel up to 10%.
