The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights invites applications for thefull-timeposition ofTechnical Assistance Program Associateto be basedin anyof the Young Center's nine offices (Chicago, Harlingen, Houston, San Antonio, New York, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Washington DC, or Grand Rapids, Michigan).The Technical Assistance Program (TAP) supports immigrant family unity at the intersection of the U.S. immigration system and state family and childwelfare law systemsby providing case consultations, trainings, and connections to resourcesto both directlyimpactedindividuals and the professionals serving them.The TAP Associatewill provide administrativeandcasemanagementsupport to staffin the TAP departmentworking with immigrant and mixed-status familiesimpactedby detention, deportation, and/orchild welfaresysteminvolvement.This roleis responsible formanaginginitial intake requests, coordinating caselogistics,supportingstakeholder engagement, tracking program feedback, andassistingwith presentations and administrative operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Intake andWaitlistSupport

  • Manage follow-up and completeinitialintakes on requests forassistancereceived through the online referral form and email inquiriessubmittedto the Technical Assistance Program team.

  • Review newrequest forassistanceintakesand coordinate waitlist follow-up with program directors.

CaseManagementSupport

  • Provide case support toTAPstaff working with parents in ICE detention, families seeking reunification following deportation, and stakeholders working at the intersection of immigration and child welfare.

  • Coordinatelogisticsrelated to detained parents and family reunification cases.This may includeobtaining signatures and notarizations, supporting guardianship documentation, securing travel documents and authorizations, arranging travel and accompaniment, andassistingwith joint repatriation efforts.

  • Identifyand coordinateadditionalresources andsupportsfor non-citizen families, including community partners, service providers, and relevant stakeholder contacts.

  • Obtain, organize, and manage relevant case documentation andmaintainaccuratestakeholder and case information in Salesforce and othercase management andtrackingsystems.

  • Maintainaccuraterecords, case notes, and communications in Salesforce and other tracking systems.

  • Support case closure processes, including final follow-up with stakeholders and data review/input in Salesforce database.

Program and Administrative Support

  • Manage program surveys, including dissemination, tracking responses,andcompiling data.

  • Support program directors with presentation preparation, PowerPoint development, training materials, and calendar management.

  • Coordinate administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two years of post-high school experiences that may include a combination of employment, community organizing,internships, studentleadershipand/or volunteerexperience

  • Bilingualability (oral and written) in English/Spanish

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly as it relates to documenting and tracking information.

  • Ability to engage with a variety of audiences that include children and/or their families,colleagues, community partners, and volunteers.

  • Ability to follow up with key stakeholders to close gaps in information and answer pressing questions or concerns.

  • Resourcefulness and proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to gather, summarize, and presentlarge amountsof information.

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office products, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, and willingness to learnnew technologyand/or platforms.

  • Ability to communicate with cultural humility, compassion, and empathy and effectively engage acrossdifferent cultures, identities, and ethnicities.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience-lived, volunteer, or professional-with immigrationand/or child welfarematters

  • Experience withSalesforce

  • Basic data collectionexperience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands include regular attendance,keyboarding,sitting forlong periods(at least 5 hours a day),driving. Ability to usecomputer,telephone, and copymachine. Ability to travel by plane,carand other conveyances within U.S. Occasional lifting for event setup/preparation.

$26.91to $29.93is the standard new hire range for this position ($29.60-$32.93for thoseresidingin the Los Angeles and DC metropolitan areas; $30.95-$34.43for thoseresidingin the NYC metropolitan area).Actualwagewill vary depending on factors including but not limited to location and experience. The Young Center does not ask for prior pay history from ourcandidatesand our offer-making process is negotiation-free for salaries and benefits. We offer our bestpossible salarybased on relevant experience. The range listed is just onecomponentof the Young Center's total compensation package for employees. The Young Center provides excellent benefits, including health/dental/vision insurance (employee & dependents) at no cost to the employee, paid vacation, sick time, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
