Position Overview
This is an office-based role responsible for preparing estimates, coordinating projects, and supporting field operations. The position requires strong technical knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with field personnel and clients. Most supervision is performed remotely, with occasional coordination of on-site management through foremen or supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Proposals



  • Review photos, videos, field notes, and recommendations submitted by service technicians to assess project scope.
  • Collaborate with technicians, Project Managers, and management to develop accurate scopes of work and pricing.
  • Prepare detailed, timely customer proposals and estimates.
  • Plan and coordinate projects from the office to ensure efficient execution.
  • Lead daily planning and job review meetings with technicians prior to dispatch.
  • Provide remote supervision and project support via phone, video calls, and other communication tools.
  • Coordinate with field foremen when on-site supervision is required.
  • Manage all necessary inspections and coordination with NYC Department of Buildings, Client, and other agencies.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, building management, and vendors, ensuring high-quality customer service.


Note: This role is primarily office-based. Field supervision is typically conducted remotely. Projects requiring on-site oversight are assigned to field foremen or supervisors.
Materials & Shop Operations



  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.
  • Pull and stage materials for upcoming projects based on schedules and work orders.
  • Order materials from suppliers and track deliveries to ensure job readiness.
  • Coordinate material logistics with technicians and vendors to support efficient project execution.


Required Knowledge & Skills



  • Extensive experience in the plumbing, heating, and/or mechanical industry.
  • Strong understanding of the NYC Plumbing Code.
  • Knowledge of NYC Department of Buildings permitting processes.
  • Familiarity with Client rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and estimating software.


Qualifications



  • Valid, clean driver's license.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a plumbing technician.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Foreman, Supervisor, or Project Manager.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to effectively support and supervise field personnel from an office environment.
