Opportunity Details:

• Perform daily activities associated with the processing of tissuesreceived from surgical procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring the correct accessioning of all surgical specimens.
• Perform gross description and complete dissection of surgical specimens.
• Collect appropriate specimens for microbiological examination, tumor marker testing, and other specified analyses.
• Selectand submittissue sections for microscopic examination, including frozen sections and permanent sections for light, electron, and fluorescentmicroscopy.
• Photographappropriate specimens.
• Maintain orderly storage of surgical and autopsy specimens as well as disposal ofspecimens.
• Maintain equipment, adequate supplies, and the cleanliness of the grossing room.
• Serve as a backup forreleasingand viewing deceased individualsin the absence of regular staff.
• Assist with departmental orientation and training of new hires and students.

• New York State Pathologist Assistant License or New York State Limited Pathologist Assistant License required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience performing activities associated with the processing of tissues received from surgical procedures.

Per Diem Rate: $85.00* per hour.
