Patient Access Training Analyst

Summary:

The Patient Access Training Analyst is responsible for providing training, educational materials and relevant updates to assigned Hospital based access staff as well as serving as the main "communicator" for the Registration User Group.

Responsibilities:

  1. Is responsible for training and reviewing specific aspects of the revenue cycle including: scheduling, registration, insurance verification, submit and obtain authorizations, registration quality, charge entry and charge reconciliation, claims editor rejections, external payer transmission of registration related denials, andpoint of service workflows for all new and existing employees.
  2. Is responsible for documenting all findings, serving as a liaison between staff and management, reporting registration quality, continuous process improvement and ongoing employee education.
  3. Works as an integral component for scheduled and un-scheduled Epic systems downtimes and scheduled go live events. Provides support and training for unanticipated recovery events. Create, test, and implement ongoing systems training program to include specific components of the revenue cycle for all new and existing system users. Maintain and update training materials as needed for continuous process improvement.
  4. Identify trends that are derived from data analysis and hospital department visits at point of service.
  5. Develop reports and communicate findings to appropriate management level for future education, training, and process improvement.
  6. Other duties as required.

Other information:

Technical Expertise

  1. Experience providing Access-based training in a hospital-based access system is required.
  2. Experience in corporate/classroom training/auditing experience including curriculum development/preparation and continuous classroom training or presentation experience is required.
  3. Experience in developing unique training venues with power point, video and other medium is required.
  4. Experience working with assigned management and staff and others as needed at various corporate levels is required.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
  6. Epic experience is required.

Education and Experience

  1. Education: Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's degree in education or healthcare related field is preferred.
  2. Licensure: NA
  3. Certification: Epic Systems certification or Epic credentialed when hired or must obtain certification within 6 weeks after last class completed is required or Epic credentialing within 3 weeks of hire.
  4. Years of relevant experience: minimum five years preferred.
  5. Years of supervisory experience: NA
