| Job Description |
ECU College of Business and Hospitality Management is seeking support for
HMGT 4300/4301 - Advanced Food Productivity and Service Management. Teaching assistants must have outstanding skills in interacting with undergraduate students and be proficient in teaching, training, and coaching students.
This course is a required component of the Hospitality Management (
HMGT) core curriculum, making strong culinary knowledge and technical food preparation skills essential. The position plays a key role in guiding students through hands-on learning experiences, reinforcing foundational techniques in food preparation, presentation, and service. |

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with demonstrating food preparation techniques
- Support evaluation of student-produced food products
- Provide guidance and feedback to undergraduate students in a lab setting
- Reinforce principles of food safety, presentation, and service
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Hospitality Management or a related field
- Experience in food preparation, culinary arts, or food service operations
- Strong academic performance (GPA considerations may apply)
- Prior tutoring, training, or mentoring experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Patience and perseverance when working with students
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced lab environment
