We're seeking enthusiastic, driven Senior Business Compliance Specialists. You will ensure that Home, Auto, or Commercial Lines products and operational guidelines for American Family Mutual Insurance Company, S.I. and our subsidiaries comply with applicable laws and regulations. You'll partner on complex, cross-divisional initiatives to assess compliance impacts of products and operational activities including mandates, complaints, risk assessments, regulatory business guidance, and moratoriums; create communications and reporting to improve compliance awareness; and work with process and product owners to remediate and track compliance fixes. You will collaborate across the organization, including with Legal, Compliance, IT, Partner Management, Operations, and Claims.

Auto Product (1)
Commercial Lines Product (2)

You will report to Senior Manager, Business Compliance.

Depending on the candidate pool, this position may be filled at a lower level to maintain alignment with experience and qualifications.

Position Compensation Range:

$80,000.00 - $131,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Complete operational control risk assessments and support testing of divisional processes, including new product/system implementations.
  • Coordinate execution of test plans and track progress.
  • Communicate assessment/testing results to leaders; document remediation plans and coordinate retesting.
  • Support internal control partners in developing and improving divisional control processes.
  • Align line-of-business control programs with Corporate Internal Control standards.
  • Provide compliance support for market conduct exams, regulatory data calls, and state inquiries/surveys.
  • Support compliance complaint management for assigned lines across operating companies.
  • Monitor, report, and drive remediation for compliance defects and issues.
  • Coordinate required actions related to moratoriums and state emergency orders.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing compliance and risk control programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem solving
  • Demonstrated experience in the field of compliance including a working knowledge of underwriting and claims or specialized area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, managing, and/or leading projects or initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, methodologies, and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Property & Casualty or Commercial lines insurance with knowledge of insurance products and operations.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and advise on insurance regulations.
  • Organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaborator who can also work effectively independently.

In this hybrid role you are expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month out of one of the following offices: Madison, WI, Boston, MA, Phoenix, AZ, Hopkins, MN, Denver, CO or St. Joseph, MO.
