Low Voltage Data Technician Location: Nashville, TN Position Overview TEKsystems is seeking experienced* Data Technicians* to support commercial cabling projects in the Nashville area. This role is suited for individuals with prior hands-on experience in commercial environments who can perform installations and terminations with a high level of quality and consistency. This position involves working across active construction sites and operational office settings, with potential for regional travel based on project needs. Candidates should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating with project leads and team members. Key Responsibilities * Install, pull, and route low-voltage copper cabling (CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A) in commercial settings * Experience with pathways such as conduits, J-hooks, and drop ceilings * Perform data terminations using RJ45 connectors, keystone jacks, and patch panels * Follow TIA/EIA wiring standards, including T568A and T568B configurations * Bundle, label, and organize cabling to maintain structured and professional installations * Support project completion timelines while maintaining quality and safety standards Required Qualifications * 1-3 years of experience in commercial low-voltage cabling * Demonstrated ability to terminate and install CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling * Knowledge of TIA/EIA wiring standards (T568A/T568B) * Experience using standard hand and power tools * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces Preferred Qualifications * OSHA 10 certification * Experience with large commercial construction projects * Exposure to fiber optics, network testing equipment, or AV/security systems Work Environment * Full-time schedule (40 hours per week) * Projects may be based in construction environments or active business locations * Flexibility for travel within the region as project assignments change Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
