General Job Description Position Summary KEP is seeking a highly organized and financially driven Project Controller to support the successful execution of electrical construction projects from award through closeout. The Project Controller serves as the financial and operational partner to Project Managers, Purchasing, Field Operations, and the Leadership Team. This individual is responsible for project budgeting, forecasting, procurement coordination, billing, change order management, subcontract administration, and overall project financial performance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, possesses strong financial and analytical skills, and has the ability to proactively identify risks while driving accountability across project teams. Key Responsibilities Own project budgets and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and maintain Cost-to-Complete (CTC) forecasts. Monitor project financial performance and identify cost risks. Provide budget variance analysis and forecasting support. Ensure all project commitments, costs, and change orders are accurately reflected in project budgets. Lead project buyout activities and maintain buyout schedules. Coordinate with Purchasing and Project Management to ensure procurement aligns with project scope, budget, and schedule requirements. Manage purchase order commitments and monitor material lead times. Prepare monthly billing and stored material billings. Support accurate percent-complete reporting and contract billing requirements. Develop, price, submit, and track change orders. Maintain accurate change order logs and ensure approved changes are incorporated into budgets and billing. Partner with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Field Operations to support project execution. Monitor procurement milestones, financial deadlines, and critical project deliverables. Escalate project risks and delays to the Leadership Team when necessary. Maintain awareness of project scope, RFIs, submittals, and schedule impacts. Support subcontract buyout, contract execution, and vendor management activities. Ensure all project documentation, financial records, and contract files are maintained and organized. Assist with project closeout documentation and final financial reconciliation. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education College Minimum Years of Experience 2-4 Specific Qualifications Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in construction project controls, Project Management, project accounting, project management support, or related construction operations roles. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, procurement, billing, and change order processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction management software. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Preferred Experience in electrical, HVAC and Plumbing, construction or specialty contracting. Experience with ERP systems and project management platforms. Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with occasional visits to project sites as needed. May require extended periods of sitting and working at a computer. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to use standard office equipment, including a computer, phone, and printer. Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing. May require occasional standing, walking, bending, or lifting up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel occasionally to project sites or company locations, if required. Additional Requirements Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
