Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Operations, VP to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Vice President (VP) serves as a key leader to support operations of large to mid-size state healthcare related Assessment programs. This role is accountable for the operational, financial, and strategic performance of the program, with responsibility spanning service delivery, operational excellence, client partnership, compliance, performance outcomes, and overall contract execution.

The VP will ensure operational performance consistently meets contractual obligations, service level agreements (SLAs), regulatory requirements, quality standards, and financial targets while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish productivity expectations to ensure assigned programs achieve financial and contract targets. Identify opportunities for further operational effectiveness through process improvement, redesign, automation, etc.
  • Ensure headcount is right-sized to the operation, considering attrition rates and new customers, while meeting workload and financial targets. Develop and maintain an operational infrastructure that includes employee skill set requirements, gap analysis, performance management, and training plans.
  • Create and implement effective retention plans in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Provide leadership, expertise and project management skills to drive unprecedented success in revenue growth. Provide clear, direct communication to operational directors and other management to ensure consistent understanding of business opportunities, resource needs and profitability goals.
  • Develop and implement performance measurement reporting systems to monitor compliance with existing policies, procedures and other requirements of URAC, ISO, etc.
  • Comply with contractual requirements within the operation by monitoring critical indicators, deliverables and budgets. Continually evaluate priorities to determine if they are consistent with customer objectives.
  • Research and interpret appropriate legislation and regulations to identify strategies, new product opportunities and opportunities to capitalize on market changes.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key market influencers to support the acquisition of new business.
  • Participate in contract management strategy sessions, customer visits/presentations, and renewal activities. Identify and engage in upselling opportunities to current customers. Identify, initiate, and support project initiatives that add value to the operations. Act as a resource, demonstrating the value of Acentra Health's healthcare suite of products/services.
  • Coordinate request for proposal (RFP) responses, including identification of response opportunities consistent with Acentra Health's strategic objectives. Lead the response team including the development of timelines and work plans, delegate tasks, complete sections of the RFP, review the final draft product and compile and submit the final RFP. Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for appropriate programs.
  • Make presentations to senior management on a wide spectrum of healthcare issues, primarily related to commercial programs. Deliver presentations to promote strategic and national objectives of Acentra Health.
  • Drive and support a "one-company" orientation collaborating with partners across the entire organization; e.g., operations, human resources, IT, business development, data warehouse, contract compliance, etc. Perform cross-regional activities that enhance operating efficiencies.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, nursing, health information administration, or related field required.
  • Master's degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years' experience leading or co-leading health reassessments
  • 10+ years leadership and management experience on healthcare programs
  • Successful track record in a leadership role in a complex, competitive environment with diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic factors
  • Experience with contract administration functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Managed care, utilization management, care management, population health operations, disease management or other clinical area assessments.
  • Government healthcare programs including Medicaid, Medicare, and public health initiatives
  • Public or commercial sector health plan management experience.

Experience in Lieu of Degree

For non-clinical roles, or when not required by the contract specifically, the Company acknowledges that practical, hands-on experience can provide skills and competencies equivalent to formal education. As such, in cases where a Bachelor's degree may be required, the Company will accept a minimum of six (6) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree. In instances where the candidate has an Associate's degree, the Company will accept a minimum of three (3) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
