Description

Seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, growth-minded intern with a positive attitude to join the Defense and Space unit within Skyworks. This internship experience provides learning opportunities where high performance and high-quality products are manufactured to customers for aerospace, defense, medical extreme industrial and high reliability markets and applications.The manufacturing area is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for new and existing products. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products. The intern will have an opportunity to work with engineers in releasing new products. The production area focuses in specifying and implementing process control procedures and equipment that improve production efficiency and support manufacturing objectives. The intern will work with research and development functions to ensure that designs are compatible. Recommends sequence of operations, equipment, and utilization

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Capacity in Assembly & Test area, consistent monitoring on UPH
  • Continuous monitoring of process improvement and performing self-audit
  • Participate in documentation improvement
  • Data Analysis with Power BI and Power App
  • Perform simple repairs and/or component removal or replacement



Required Experience and Skills

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate (BA/BS/MS) Engineering degree program, preferably Industrial or Systems Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Detail oriented
  • MS Excel experience needed
  • Ability to multitasking
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Assist engineering in determining methods/actions to remedy malfunctions.
  • Assist engineering in design, construction, and check-out of test equipment.
  • Data management and analysis skills helpful

Desired Experience and Skills

Because this position is within our Skyworks Defense and Space business where we have contracts with the US government, qualified candidates must have US Worker status. This usually means they are a US citizen or hold a green card. Students on visas such as F1 or J1 do not qualify. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$23.89 -$41.63 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
