D489 Main Propulsion Motor (MPM) - Experienced Systems Engineer
Overview Department 489 - COLUMBIA Class Integrated Power Systems (IPS) - is looking for an experienced engineer to lead procurement, design, manufacture, test, and delivery of main propulsion machinery (specifically the Main Propulsion Motor (MPM)) for the state-of-the-art electric drive propulsion system on the COLUMBIA Class submarine while mentoring a team of entry level engineers to develop them into experienced and effective senior engineers. A challenging system engineering opportunity exists within the IPS organization to support MPM shipboard integration by interfacing with mechanical/electrical design details, onsite construction/operations readiness, and qualification/production test troubleshooting. In addition, the team works with several suppliers to manage component development and provide technical and programmatic support throughout component design, manufacture, test, and delivery. Basic requirements include, but not limited to:
Provide oversight and direction of shipyard construction / test activities (e.g. assembly/test procedures, manufacture/test trouble shooting, technical requirement disposition's, etc.)
