Registered Nurse-RN

PRN -Third Shift

BHCOR-Cor 3 North Surgical Dept. I Corbin, KY

Corbin 3 North Surgical is a 36-bed medical-surgical unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses. We offer compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the continuum of recovery. Our team specializes in post-operative management, medical stabilization, and ongoing treatment of acute and chronic conditions. 3 North Surgical is committed to delivering high-quality, coordinated care that supports safe healing, patient education, and optimal outcomes for every individual we serve.

Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Must possess the ability to supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

Description:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while maintaining accurate documentation.

  • Coordinate care, education, and discharge planning with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary team.

  • Perform clinical procedures, implement provider orders, and respond to emergency situations.

  • Utilize critical thinking, effective communication, and sound judgment to promote patient safety and quality outcomes.

  • Delegate tasks, provide leadership and staff support, and facilitate efficient patient flow.

  • Serve as a mentor and resource while promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional development.

  • Maintain licensure, complete required training, and comply with organizational, state, and federal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program and current Kentucky RN license or work permit required.

  • No experience required; Bachelor's Degree and patient care experience preferred.

  • BLS, ACLS, Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia, NIH Stroke Certification, Glucometer Training, Aegis/DY, and Nurse Wound Care certifications required and may be obtained within established post-hire timeframes.
