Dayton VA Medical Center | Dayton, OH

Full Time | Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM | Federal Holidays Off

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking Advanced Medical Support Assistants to join the Primary Care team at the Dayton VA Medical Center. AMSAs are the front line of the Veteran experience. You set the tone for every visit, keep clinics running smoothly, and make sure the men and women who served our country are treated with the care and respect they earned. What You Will Need
    High school diploma or GED required
  • 2 years minimum of Medical Administration experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong clerical and administrative skills (scheduling, data entry, records management)
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm in highvolume, patientfacing environments
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English
What You Will Do
  • Serve as the welcoming first point of contact for Veterans in person and by phone
  • Manage appointment scheduling for one or more Primary Care clinics, including rescheduling and shifting patients when coverage changes
  • Verify patient identity using VA patient safety standards and update demographic and insurance information at every interaction
  • Collect, scan, and update health insurance information, playing a key role in the revenue process
  • Conduct daily reviews of active and pending consults, recalls, and return-to-clinic lists
  • Participate in daily PACT team huddles and weekly team meetings
  • Guide Veterans on Beneficiary Travel reimbursement and transportation support services
  • Screen and route phone calls courteously while protecting patient privacy
  • Support electronic records management, program coordination, and clinic space utilization
