POSITION SUMMARY: The Cargo Operations Assistant provides general administrative, cargo equipment responsibilities, and customer service support to Cargo Operations. This position reports to the Director of Cargo. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned): * Answering phones and assisting international operations by calling customers to advise that shipments or documents are ready. * Reconciling of interline bills. * Reconciling daily cash summary for agents to be scanned and sent to Finance * Works closely with Sales department to research and close out claims. * Assisting with missing freight * Inputting information into airwaybill adjustment portal as needed * Filing of dangerous goods and live animal paperwork * Typing forms, reports, correspondence, and notes. * Assisting Finance to help track down paperwork for billing purposes * Performing routine clerical duties such as sorting, filing, relying messages. * Daily checks of good ULDs to proactively catch any damages prior to use within the operations. * Tracking of damaged/repaired ULD. * Assist with keeping damaged/good ULD separated. * Tracking of ULD released to customer and returned to customer. * Check condition of duct boards in ULD and address or assist in correcting/repairing as needed. * Monitor daily vehicle checks such as fill fluids as needed, check oil, brakes, etc. * Assist to maintain dollies and repair casters as needed. * Coordinate the upkeep and maintenance of all utilized company tugs, vehicles, etc. under the guidance and direction of the Director of Cargo/GSE. * Other miscellaneous support duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment. * HS Diploma/ GED * One (1-2) year customer service experience working in an office setting preferred. * Typing 35 words per minute * Familiar with Microsoft office, Excel, Outlook, Word, Sharepoint. * Must possess a current, valid State of Hawaii driver's license and clean driving abstract upon request. * Strong belief in a Safety first culture including basic safety knowledge. * Knowledge of warehouse or cargo operations preferred. * Familiarity with basic equipment usage including vehicles, tools and supplies required of the job. * Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions and operating procedures, manuals, safety and company rules and procedures. * Ability to multitask and take instruction and guidance. * Highly organized, detail oriented, and exceptional phone etiquette required. * Good written and verbal communication skills. * Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather, warehouse environment and office settings. * Willing and comfortable working with a diverse group of employees, vendors and management styles. * Excellent and reliable attendance * Previous airline experience preferred.
