Job Summary

The Accountant II is responsible for supporting general accounting operations, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role prepares and reviews journal entries, maintains financial records, assists with quarterly and annual reporting processes, and supports audits and special projects. The position serves as a key point of contact for assigned accounting functions and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

Job Responsibilities



  • Prepare and review journal entries, including accruals, intercompany transactions, and other accounting adjustments.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Review trial balances and validate the accuracy of financial data and reporting schedules.
  • Analyze financial information and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and policies.
  • Maintain and update financial records within enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Assist with financial reporting requirements and supporting documentation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned accounting processes and business partners.
  • Respond to audit requests and provide supporting documentation as required.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports, analyses, and financial data requests.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting and reporting objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of accounting processes.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and accounting-related communications as needed.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum three years of accounting or finance experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting standards.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Experience reviewing trial balances and supporting quarterly and annual close processes.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems required.
  • SAP S/4 experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, formulas, reporting, and macros.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Ability to support audits, reporting requests, and financial analysis activities.
  • United States citizenship required.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.


Work Experience



  • Minimum three years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Experience with account reconciliations and financial reporting activities.
  • Experience working with SAP S/4 strongly preferred.
  • Experience with BlackLine reconciliation software preferred.
  • Experience with Costpoint ERP systems preferred.
  • Public accounting or Big Four experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance activities preferred.
