Supply Chain Buyer/Planner

Salary range: $70,000.00 per year

Summary:

The Supply Chain Buyer is responsible for analyzing material demand, issuing and managing purchase orders, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods while minimizing the commitment of company assets. This role requires a balance of strategic planning and operational execution to maintain optimal inventory levels and support business objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Issue and manage purchase orders to fulfill material requirements and support production schedules.
• Monitor inventory and material requirements to ensure appropriate supply levels and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Expedite orders and coordinate outside processing to improve material availability and minimize production disruptions.
• Analyze purchasing and material data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
• Balance pricing and inventory levels to minimize Purchase Price Variance (PPV) while optimizing cash flow.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with suppliers, Operations, Planning, and internal departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely material availability.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data and KPIs, including ERP, PO, supplier, pricing, and delivery information, and monitor supplier performance.
• Partner with Accounts Payable and suppliers to resolve invoicing, pricing, and payment discrepancies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support supply chain operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent directly applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 2 plus years of purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand inventory levels, material requirements, lead times, and production schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing purchase orders, pricing, supplier information, and ERP data.
• Ability to work independently and make sound purchasing decisions within established policies and guidelines.
• Epicor ERP experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4 plus years of purchasing or materials planning experience
• Experience with international suppliers and global logistics
