The Clinic Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance, productivity, development, and leadership of non clinical staff within the William Street Clinic (WSC). This role supports day to day clinic operations to ensure program objectives are met in alignment with contract, quality, and performance requirements.

The Clinic Supervisor partners closely with Optum Serve operational and administrative departments, internal program stakeholders, the customer (CDC), and external vendors to cultivate strong working relationships and drive continuous performance improvement. By fostering collaboration, accountability, and staff development, the Clinic Supervisor implements and sustains operational strategies that maximize team strengths, improve efficiencies, and enable the WSC CCE team to meet and exceed program goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Team Management and Staffing Responsibilities
    • Develop, manage, and track annual goals aligned with clinic, contract, and broader business objectives
    • Manage fluctuations in daily workflow by making staffing adjustments as necessary to manage task and appointment volumes, meet MBO deliverables and contract performance measures
    • Directly responsible for the productivity, goals and quality performance of benefits specialists and other staff under direct leadership
    • Administer department policy and procedures to include handling employee issues, monitoring PTO, timesheet approval, interviewing, performance evaluations, goal setting, oversight of new hire orientation and professional growth development as applicable
    • Address performance concerns through coaching and if necessary, corrective action
    • Manage employee time-off requests, overtime, FMLA leave, schedule changes and all other personnel issues
    • Directly responsible for hiring and retaining staff, employee development and coaching, administering performance appraisals, and providing guidance and feedback to direct reports
    • Performance review and providing guidance and feedback to direct reports
  • Operational Activities and Work Volume Responsibilities
    • Investigate, document, and respond to internal and external customer complaints or inquiries; escalate and report member services-related concerns per the established reporting process
    • Work collaboratively to provide input on process improvements and efficiencies to support the contract and participate in the implementation
    • Oversee inventory control processes for the clinic, including ordering supplies, tracking inventory levels, coordinating deliveries, and managing shipments to and from the clinic in alignment with operational needs
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports to support operational oversight, workflow tracking, and reporting expectations
    • Oversee the coordination and confirmation of scheduling for all clinic services, including initial and followup appointments, across various monitoring, treatment, and diagnostic modalities, ensuring alignment with provider availability, clinic workflows, and treatment requirements
  • Customer Interaction
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendor partners, and internal operational teams across all communication channels
    • Manage and coordinate the resolution of technical issues impacting both internal and external systems by serving as a point of escalation, collaborating with IT and crossfunctional partners, and ensuring timely communication, documentation, and followthrough to minimize operational and member care disruptions

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of similar work experience and/or 1+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in a corporate setting
  • Hiring and interviewing processes
  • Delegation of workload and staffing
  • Performance management
  • Equivalent combination of education, healthcare experience and/or applicable military experience
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Proven excellent problem-solving skills, strong time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment and strong analytical skills
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail; ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with staff and employees at all levels within the company and external customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National Career Readiness Certificate
  • Working knowledge of electronic health record and scheduling systems and platforms
  • ISO experience/knowledge
  • Proven ability to read, write, understand and communicate proficiently in any of the following languages Spanish, Cantonese or Mandarin

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $49,700 - $88,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
