Medical Assistant - OBGYNLake Carmel, New York Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 Sign-on Bonus for External Candidates About the RoleOptum NY/NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support its OBGYN team in Carmel, NY. In this patient-focused role, you will provide direct clinical support, coordinate care with providers and care team members, and help ensure a seamless experience for patients throughout their visit. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians while contributing to high-quality women's healthcare. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care and assist physicians with clinical procedures. Escort and prepare patients for examinations in a timely manner. Obtain vital signs, perform vision screenings, and complete authorized clinical tests. Support physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers during exams and treatments. Process laboratory specimens accurately and ensure appropriate documentation in EPIC. Prepare e-prescriptions for provider review and maintain clinical instruments and equipment according to established guidelines. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary care office or heavy surgical department (plastics, dermatology, or urology), OR Nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification from one of the following organizations: NAHP NCCT AAMA AMT NHA Preferred Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Current CPR/BLS certification.
