Position Overview
The Department of French & Italian at the University of Kansas seeks individuals qualified to teach part-time to full-time undergraduate and graduate courses in French language and/or Francophone literatures and cultures. This position is primarily for teaching in-person courses at the Lawrence campus of the University of Kansas.
Lecturers are non-tenure-track members of the faculty whose primary role is instruction with no obligations to perform research or service. Employment contracts will be committed on an academic year basis for one-year appointments. Normally, lecturers can expect to teach in the fall and spring (and summer for graduate courses) semester with a load of one to four courses. Lecturers may be reappointed for subsequent years contigent upon need, budget and teaching performance. This position is subject to acollective bargaining agreementbetween The University of Kansas and United Academics, United Academics of KU, AFT-AAUP, AFL-CIO; UAKU is the exclusive bargaining representative. As the State of Kansas is a right to work state, you have the right to be a member or not be a member of a union without fear of personal or professional repercussions. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. prior to the start date of the position. Job Description 100% Teach one to four 3-hour or 5-hour courses at the 100-, 200-, 300-, 400-, or 600-level.
