Job Title: Parking Enforcement Patroller (Non-Driving)

Department: Municipal Enforcement

Reports To: Area Supervisor / Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: This role is required to work during scheduled shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed. Overtime may be requested based on operational demands.

Work Location: In-person at assigned location

Position Overview:

The On-Street Parking Enforcement Patroller (Non-Driving) is responsible for enforcing municipal parking regulations on assigned pedestrian routes. This includes issuing violation notices, documenting enforcement activity, reporting safety concerns, and interacting professionally with the public to support compliance. The role requires physical mobility, attention to detail, and consistent adherence to company and municipal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to the following, as additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned:



  • Provide courteous, professional customer service and represent Diamond Parking with integrity.
  • Walk assigned routes to monitor on-street parking activity.
  • Chalk tires of parked vehicles, log times, and recheck vehicles at designated intervals.
  • Issue citations or notices for unpaid parking or expired permits.
  • Record accurate data on electronic or manual devices.
  • Complete required shift reports, logs, and documentation.
  • File incident reports for damage claims or unusual events during the shift.
  • Maintain uniform appearance and wear a visible ID badge while on duty.
  • Report hazards or vehicles eligible for impound to supervisor.
  • Submit timecards and paperwork as required.
  • Attend scheduled shifts consistently and respond to requests for overtime as needed.



Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience:



  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 to 3 months of related experience or training desirable.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.


Licenses:



  • Valid state-issued driver's license and proof of insurance required.
  • Must pass a company-administered driving skills test (if applicable to route coverage).


Language Skills:



  • Ability to read, understand, and follow basic instructions and memos in English.
  • Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings.


Mathematical Skills:



  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including using U.S. currency.


Reasoning Ability:



  • Ability to apply common sense and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of resolving routine issues in standardized situations.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Physical:

    • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and use hands to operate devices or handle tickets.
    • Frequently required to walk or run.
    • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb.
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.




Work Environment: Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions including rain, heat, snow, and humidity. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is typically moderate and occasionally loud.

Other:

Must be able to transfer or relocate to another assigned area, facility, or route without advance notice.
