Overview
The Takacs Lab focuses on spirochete and vector biology. Specifically, the lab investigates the Lyme disease bacterium, Borrelia burgdorferi, its tick vector, and their interactions though a set of genetic, imaging, and biochemical approaches. What You'll Do Under supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Technician will conduct a variety of routine experiments by following established procedures and protocols including: generating plasmids and bacterial strains, performing microbiological, biochemical, and imaging experiments with these strains, analyzing the data obtained, reporting the results in publication-quality figures. The tools and methods routinely employed in the lab include molecular cloning, bacterial genetic and growth assays, microscopy, image analysis. Other duties may include monitoring laboratory operations by ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, managing lab space and cleanliness and following laboratory safety protocols. Pay Range Minimum $20.90, Midpoint $24.90, Maximum $28.90 Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range. | |
