Description

Typical Functions:



  • Monitors and directs work activities within areas of responsibility, ensuring work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and that areas of responsibility are maintained in a neat and orderly condition. Ensures compliance with company plant and safety rules.


  • Works with appropriate resources to maintain compliance with appropriate federal, State and local HES regulations, reports and notifies appropriate plant personnel of any deviations per established standards.


  • Executes maintenance tasks, establishes priorities and sequences for activities. Coordinates maintenance activities with other departments and personnel as necessary to maximize operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, within budget and according to customer needs.


  • Participate in incident investigations as required, including reporting incidents to appropriate personnel, completing required documentation, recommending and implementing corrective actions, and communicating findings as appropriate.


  • Trains and coaches personnel in efficient work procedures, safe work practices, and good housekeeping practices. Coaches and encourages development and growth of skills and abilities.


  • Assists in evaluating the efficiency of work procedures, manpower and equipment utilization and cost control measures. Makes recommendations and implements actions to improve efficiency. Track and analyze maintenance data.


  • Monitors critical part stocking levels, suggesting changes and enhancements as appropriate.


  • Assists in the development and monitoring of the maintenance budget and annual investment (capital) plan


  • Monitors, reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to identify or determine causes of nonconformity or operating/production problems, recommending and implementing corrective actions


  • Coordinates the inspection machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Establishes and maintains PM and PDM programs.


  • Conduct regular crew and safety meetings to establish effective communication among crew both on shift and between shifts.


  • Works effectively with employees within areas of responsibility, consulting with HR, Department Manager, or other parties as necessary


  • Performs management of services contract of subcontractors as required, according to cost, quality, safety and pre-set deadlines in the contract


  • Other duties as assigned



Education Requirements / Work Experience:

  • Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisory experience / contractor management is preferred.


  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with a CMMS system required. Maximo system experience preferred.


  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, motor controls, conveyor systems, machine shop practices, and other industrial maintenance skills. Ability to read schematics and blue prints. May also have knowledge of programmable logic controls.



Supervisory Responsibilities: Directs the work of 20-30 craft workers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; extreme heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with noise level in some areas high.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay $103,000 (minimum pay) - $129,048 based on experience.

Annual performance bonus target 10%.
