Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Master's degree preferred
• Five to seven years of financial and management experience
• Experience overseeing financial operations for an organization with 30-50 employees
• CPA or CMA designation preferred
• Strong nonprofit accounting and federal grant-compliance knowledge
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial reporting
• Proficiency with financial software and reporting systems
• MIP Fund Accounting experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to provide recommendation letters and at least five professional references
• Ability to pass required background and financial-background checks

Job Duties

• Direct accounting, payroll, purchasing, procurement, and property-control functions
• Supervise, train, and develop finance and payroll employees
• Advise the CEO, executive team, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors
• Develop annual budgets and short- and long-term financial forecasts
• Monitor grant, contract, and program budgets
• Prepare financial models and strategic recommendations
• Oversee financial statements, reconciliations, reimbursements, and cash-flow reports
• Maintain effective internal controls and risk-management procedures
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit, federal, state, and grant requirements
• Coordinate independent audits and resolve audit findings
• Monitor banking activity and maintain adequate cash flow
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll taxes, and fixed assets
• Support contract negotiations and identify funding opportunities
• Maintain accurate financial records and reporting systems
• Lead Audit and Finance Committee activities
• Partner with leadership to improve operational and program performance
