TROY7 employees in support of RETS Contract execute and report on theater and strategic offensive and defensive ballistic missile testing and support space situational awareness operations and experiments, using a wide array of highly sophisticated radar, telemetry and optical sensors to meet the needs of our nation in defending the United States and its interests.

This position is located at the RTR Operations Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

What You Will Do:
  • Conduct and coordinate scientific mission planning activities in support of Reagan Test Range (RTR) technical operations.

  • Employ Mission Planning Workstation (MPW) software to generate mission, sensor, and simulator files as well as auto-tasker scripts for use on RTR mission tests.

  • Run simulations/produce plots to verify tracking capabilities, verify RTR Distributed Operations (RDO) algorithms including Best Choice, Best Estimate of Trajectory, Impact Predictions, Sensor Timelines, Directing Data, inputs such as target characteristics, nominal trajectories, body motion parameters, and RCS for various sensors.

  • Evaluate and report various performance metrics.

  • Participate in Review Boards related to mission planning and operational software.

  • Risk management assessment and software/hardware development of test configurations.

  • Assist in the preparation of pre-mission briefings.

  • Review Range User requirements utilizing the Universal Documentation System (UDS).

  • Serve on console to support real-time flight test execution as instrumentation controller or analytical position.

  • Assist in diagnostic efforts related to problems uncovered by mission activities.

  • Continuously share knowledge and lessons learned with coworkers.

  • Work closely with staff on Kwajalein to accomplish mission planning activities.

  • Execute simultaneous tasks within broadly defined parameters.

  • Prepare administrative reports.

  • Travel to Kwajalein Atoll on a limited basis for coordination of team activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aeronautics, or a related STEM discipline.

  • Zero (0) years experience in mission planning and trajectory analysis.

  • Proficiency in MATLAB/UNIX/LINUX programming.

  • Ability to use lite programming commands in MATLAB, UNIX/LINUX.

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite including Visio, PowerPoint and Project.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others both in and outside of the organization.

  • Ability to interface effectively at a technical level with engineers from varying backgrounds.

  • Must be able to prioritize and complete tasks to meet deadlines.

  • Good attention to detail and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to show integrity and professionalism in all duties assigned.

  • Ability to work effectively and react quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.

  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours and weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Current Secret security clearance.

  • Project management experience.
