Job Title: Senior Banking Operations Manager - Escheatment, Tax Reporting and Support ServicesLocation: CityScapeWhat you'll do: The Senior Banking Operations Manager leads the Banking Operations Support team and is accountable for the accurate, timely, controlled, and compliant execution of informational tax processing, federal tax withholding and remittance, FATCA and non-resident alien operations, B Notices, tax-form corrections, inactive and dormant accounts, and enterprise unclaimed property activities. The role safeguards customer assets and supports regulatory compliance through clear ownership, effective controls, accurate reconciliations, independent review, current procedures, complete audit evidence, and trained staff.This leader partners with Corporate Tax, Compliance, Operational Risk, Legal, Accounting, Technology, Data, Core Deposit Support, Lines of Business, auditors, regulators, and third-party vendors such as FIS, Sovos, and Deloitte. The manager balances daily production with fixed filing and remittance deadlines, audit and examination requests, vendor dependencies, process transformation, team capacity, and cross-training needs. * Lead and develop a specialized BOS team; establish priorities, workload coverage, service expectations, cross-training, succession plans, and accountability for accuracy, timeliness, documentation, and recordkeeping. * Provide operational oversight for informational tax reporting and related processes, including Forms 1099, 1042-S, 1042, 945, 945-A, 8966, and 5498, as applicable; maintain the annual tax calendar and ensure deadlines, owners, dependencies, approvals, corrections, and filing evidence are actively managed. * Oversee federal and FATCA withholding monitoring, general ledger reconciliations, EFTPS remittances, monthly validation, year-end reporting support, discrepancy research, payment cutoffs, and preparer-reviewer evidence. * Direct NRA and Form W-8 operations, including new-account reviews, recertification, documentation validation, U.S. indicia resolution, IBS tax-field maintenance, GIIN-related activities, and escalation of complex forms or interpretations to Corporate Tax. * Lead the end-to-end B Notice and TIN compliance process, including CP2100/CP2100A receipt monitoring, controlled file preparation, customer notices, response deadlines, W-9 or IRS/SSA evidence, withholding changes, secondary review, and retention. * Oversee tax-form corrections, pre-filing quality assurance, vendor and system output validation, IRS or state acceptance confirmation, reject resolution, root-cause analysis, and preventive process improvements. * Lead the enterprise unclaimed property operating cycle, including data requests, NAUPA data-quality review, property analysis, due diligence, owner-contact removals, account reactivation or closure, funding, state totals, remittance, state reporting support, and final-package reconciliation. * Manage the Sovos relationship and other tax or unclaimed property vendors; monitor schedules, data layouts, file-processing agreements, analysis results, due diligence proofs, filing deliverables, access, service issues, and escalation paths. * Lead operational support for unclaimed property audits and regulatory examinations, including request tracking, historical filing reconstruction, data validation, evidence production, response quality review, issue remediation, and coordination with Legal, Tax, Risk, auditors, and vendors. * Ensure first-line-of-defense controls, segregation of duties, reconciliations, approvals, access governance, records retention, procedure governance, business continuity, and audit readiness are maintained across assigned processes. * Use operational metrics and data to monitor service levels, backlog, exceptions, first-pass quality, corrections, control completion, capacity, and risks; implement scalable workflow, reporting, automation, and process improvements without weakening required controls. * Communicate material risks, missed or threatened deadlines, unresolved vendor or system issues, data limitations, and capacity constraints to senior leadership with clear options, owners, and recommended actions.
