THE POSITION

Join the Bureau of Engineering team and help maintain and enhance facilities owned and managed by the Fish & Boat Commission. As a Facilities Operations Manager 2, you will play a vital role in advancing the Commission's mission to protect, conserve, and enhance the Commonwealth's aquatic resources while expanding high-quality fishing and boating opportunities. This position combines office responsibilities with occasional travel to Commission facilities throughout the state. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees the operation, safety, and maintenance of several Commission facilities while ensuring building systems work properly and meet all regulations. The role supports projects, inspections, and contractor work to keep facilities safe and dependable. As a Facility Operations Manager 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Facility Oversight: Manage preventative maintenance, repairs, and safety checks for multiple Commission facilities
  • Systems Management: Direct the operation and monitoring of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other critical building systems
  • Contract Supervision: Review contractor work, evaluate service agreements, and ensure compliance with performance standards
  • Safety Compliance: Identify hazards, support corrections, and help maintain adherence to fire codes and safety regulations
  • Project Support: Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, and improvements that strengthen operational reliability
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain logs, reports, and documentation related to inspections, repairs, and regulatory requirements

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, less than 50% of time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bellefonte. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Facility Operations Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of experience performing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings which includes three years of supervisory experience overseeing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings, or utility plant operations.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires the possession of an active motor vehicle license.
