IPPS, which is an industry leader in supply chain integration and continues to innovate to serve UC San Diego's growing student population, supports the procurement, payment and fulfillment of business requirements for UC San Diego. IPPS is an operational and organizationalalignment unifying several administrative and service divisions into a single business perspective and is comprised of Disbursements, Mail Services, Logistics, Procurement and Contracts, and Travel. For UC San Diego, IPPS manages the sourcing, ordering, delivery, invoiceprocessing and settlement for all goods and services as a continuous process. This position serves as Operations Supervisor, Surplus Sales in Logistics ---a unit of Integrated Procure-to-Pay-Solutions (IPPS) housed within Residential, Retail, and Supply Chain Services (RRSS). This position is responsible for the supervision and assisting with the strategic growth and direction of the UC San Diego excess property disposal program (Surplus Sales). Incumbent receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies. Oversees all aspects of freight receipt, inspection, refusal, re-direction or pick-ups. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility. Provides operational and strategic leadership support to staff and student employees and ensures projects and initiatives align with IPPS strategic direction. This position is responsible for managing, planning, organizing and directing the daily administrative and warehouse operations of UC San Diego Surplus Sales. This includes supervision/training of personnel, all operational responsibilities including pickup and distribution of material, maintaining inventory, property disposal, the bidding process, cash handling, financial, budgetary matters, advertising and maintaining the interactive web site. Operates a retail Surplus Sales store which sells to the general public and University Departments. Develops relationships to encourage repeat clientele and strong internal and external partnerships. Responsible for long range planning, coordinating, organizing, staffing and supervising staff personnel administration, expenditure control, space utilization, building and equipment security maintenance and other services which support administration/warehouse operations Responsible for meeting all State, Federal and University regulations governing the transportation of material, including hazardous goods. Participates in the planning / organization of Surplus budgets. Coordinates, collaborates, and executes projects as required. QUALIFICATIONS

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $67,700 - $118,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $32.42 - $56.75 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
