Mental Health Specialist (Non-Degree)

Diamond Grove Center Behavioral Hospital has been providing psychiatric services to the Central Mississippi area for more than 34 years. Located in Louisville, Miss, our 85-bed facility provides a peaceful setting for those seeking treatment. Diamond Grove Center offers unique and individualized programming for children and adolescents ages 5-17 which sets us apart from many other treatment facilities. Diamond Grove Center has a tenured leadership team which includes a seasoned nursing department.

The Mental Health Specialist is a key member of Diamond Grove Center Team. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will facilitate the admission of psychiatric patients to Diamond Grove Center, by balancing the patient's comfort and ease within the organization's needs, with an ability to establish a therapeutic rapport as well as verbally de-escalating patients in crisis are skills that will make you successful in this role as you facilitate the orderly admissions of patients to the facility. Mental Health Specialist will be ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements.

Jobs Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for creating an environment and culture that focuses on fulfilling the organization mission, vision and values.
  • Demonstrates expertise in the performance of tasks necessary to maintain a therapeutic milieu and optimum patient care.
  • Documents in the patients record
  • Escorts patients to and from scheduled activities both in and outside of the hospital, off hospital grounds in a safe and professional manner.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality of patient information, patient privacy, and patient rights and responsibilities.

  • Behavioral Science field or equivalent of documented experience
  • Hospital Aide/Treatment Assistant
  • Great Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent Ged required.
