Position Summary

Serves as the group functional owner and decision authority for SAP S/4HANA deployment, adoption, and sustainment for finance, controlling, financial reporting, accounting, costing, and related business processes across the group. Reporting to the Group VP Controller, this role leads group wide SAP business process strategy, deployment governance, fit-to-standard adoption, and sustainment across group divisions and locations.

This role serves as the group functional business process leader for assigned SAP enabled finance processes. The position will drive adoption of Parker standard SAP business processes, support fit-to-standard decision making, and ensure consistent financial process execution across group divisions and locations.

The role partners closely with Corporate SAP S/4HANA Business Process Leaders, group SAP IT, division controllers, finance leaders, operations, supply chain, customer service, procurement, manufacturing, and site level stakeholders to align solution design, testing, deployment readiness, adoption, and post-go-live sustainment.

This role operates in a complex, matrixed environment requiring alignment across Corporate SAP teams, group leadership, division leadership, manufacturing locations, supply chain, procurement, operations, finance, IT, and end users. The position must balance Parker enterprise SAP standards with division-specific operational requirements while driving process standardization, resolving cross-functional conflicts, managing implementation risk, and ensuring business continuity during SAP deployment and stabilization.

Responsibilities

SAP S/4HANA Deployment Leadership

  • Lead finance, accounting, controlling, and reporting process deployment for group SAP S/4HANA implementations.

  • Support divisions and locations with deployment preparation, readiness activities, and fit-to-standard adoption.
  • Assess current-state processes, identify gaps, risks, data needs, control impacts, and organizational changes.
  • Facilitate workshops for process standardization, readiness, testing, training, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and stabilization.
  • Provide post-go-live support to ensure business continuity, stable adoption, and reporting integrity.

Business Process Leadership and Governance

  • Serve as group business process leader for SAP-enabled finance, controlling, accounting, and reporting processes.
  • Partner with Corporate SAP S/4HANA Business Process Leaders to align requirements, design, testing, deployment readiness, and adoption.
  • Support governance forums, business process teams, and cross-functional deployment reviews.
  • Ensure processes align with Parker's SAP ERP strategy, finance standards, accounting policies, and internal controls.
  • Present readiness status, risks, decisions, and recommendations to group leadership.

Accounting, Close, and Financial Reporting

  • Lead SAP-enabled accounting, close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
  • Standardize general ledger, journal entry, reconciliation, close, financial reporting, and management reporting practices.
  • Partner with finance teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting.
  • Improve close efficiency, reporting consistency, and financial data integrity.

Controlling, Cost Accounting, and Product Costing

  • Lead alignment of controlling, product costing, standard costing, cost center, profit center, and manufacturing finance processes.
  • Standardize cost accounting practices in alignment with Parker enterprise standards.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, and finance to ensure financial processes reflect operational activity.
  • Address costing, master data, and process gaps impacting reporting accuracy or business decisions.

Financial Integration Across Business Processes

  • Provide finance leadership across integrated SAP processes including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, plan-to-produce, inventory, distribution, and intercompany.
  • Support standardization of billing, revenue recognition, AR, AP, inventory valuation, freight, tax, and intercompany processes.
  • Ensure finance impacts are addressed during design, testing, cutover, and sustainment.
  • Support accurate transactions, compliant processes, and reliable reporting.

Controls, Compliance, and Risk Management

  • Ensure SAP finance processes support internal controls, segregation of duties, audit readiness, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify and resolve financial reporting risks, control gaps, process exceptions, and compliance concerns.
  • Partner with finance, Corporate SAP, IT, and internal control teams to implement sustainable controls.
  • Escalate significant risks and decisions as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement, Training, and Change Management

  • Build strong relationships with Corporate SAP, group IT, division finance leaders, operations, supply chain, procurement, sales, customer service, manufacturing, and site teams.
  • Influence stakeholders to adopt Parker standard SAP processes.
  • Provide coaching and training to implementation teams, process owners, super users, finance users, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support change management to drive engagement, understanding, and sustained adoption.

Sustainment and Continuous Improvement

  • Support post-deployment sustainment of finance, accounting, controlling, and reporting processes.
  • Monitor adoption, compliance, stabilization, transaction quality, reporting accuracy, and business performance.
  • Partner with Corporate SAP and group IT on enhancements, business cases, and prioritization.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and promote consistent process execution across divisions and locations

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in accounting, finance, business, information systems, operations, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, controlling, cost accounting, financial reporting, ERP-enabled business processes, or related business process leadership roles.

  • 2+ years of experience leading cross-functional project teams, implementation teams, or business process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting, management reporting, cost accounting, internal controls, and ERP-enabled process execution.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead process standardization, fit-to-standard adoption, change management, and deployment readiness activities.

  • Strong analytical, facilitation, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-influence skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment across corporate teams, group leadership, divisions, functions, and locations.

  • Ability to manage risks, resolve conflicts, support business continuity, and drive adoption during major system and process changes.
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of how finance processes integrate with sales, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, distribution, and supply chain operations.
  • Direct SAP implementation experience; SAP S/4HANA implementation experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP finance and controlling processes, including general ledger, cost center accounting, profit center accounting, product costing, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with manufacturing finance, standard costing, inventory valuation, margin analysis, and operational financial reporting.
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or related professional certification preferred.
  • Experience with automation, workflow improvement, reporting tools, analytics, or user productivity improvements.
  • Experience working across multiple manufacturing locations, divisions, or business units.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, process improvement, or project management experience.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, motion and control technologies, engineered products, or complex global business environments.
  • Ability to travel 25%-50%, with increased travel during deployment, cutover, go-live, and hypercare periods.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $107,000 to $188,000 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
