This local driving position operates dry van vehicles hauling freight in van trailers. Drivers will handle no-touch freight with a combination of live unload and drop-and-hook deliveries. Job Duties Operate Class A CDL vehicles on local delivery routes Transport freight using dry van trailers Complete live unload and drop-and-hook deliveries Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Maintain accurate delivery and transportation records Follow all DOT regulations and company safety standards Communicate with dispatch regarding route and delivery updates Education Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid driver's license required. Commercial driver's license (CDL) may be required depending on the position. Experience Requirements Safe driving history with a strong commitment to defensive driving practices. Ability to inspect vehicles, identify safety concerns, and complete required documentation. Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and proper cargo securement when applicable. Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet delivery schedules. Professional communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. Preferred Qualifications Previous professional driving, delivery, transportation, or logistics experience is preferred. Experience operating commercial vehicles, delivery trucks, box trucks, or tractor-trailers is beneficial depending on the assignment. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation, routing software, or transportation documentation is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate dependability, professionalism, and a commitment to safety are well positioned for success as a Local Class A CDL. Physical Capabilities Ability to sit for extended periods while safely operating a vehicle. Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the workday. Ability to lift, move, or secure freight and materials when required by the assignment. Ability to perform vehicle inspections and work safely in varying weather and road conditions.
