Looking for Warehouse Material Handler jobs in Newville where every shift keeps products moving? This opportunity lets you handle materials safely, support warehouse operations, and help ensure inventory reaches the right place at the right time. The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments.

Job Duties

• Loads and unloads product to and from delivery vehicles and designated storage areas
• Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as: size, type, style, color, or product code
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
• Marks materials with identifying information and records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
• Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards
• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse or material handling training is beneficial.
• High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency

Experience Requirements

• Experience moving, organizing, loading, or unloading materials in warehouse or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to accurately identify products, labels, inventory locations, and shipping documentation.
• Knowledge of safe material handling practices and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as required.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and dependable work habits.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution experience is preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, or warehouse management systems is beneficial.
• Knowledge of inventory control procedures, warehouse documentation, or Lean warehouse practices is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate reliability, teamwork, attention to detail, and safe work habits are well positioned for success as a Warehouse Material Handler.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions * Ability to complete duties with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive material handling tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely move products using manual or powered material handling equipment.
• Ability to work efficiently in warehouse or manufacturing environments while following established safety procedures.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• The employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• The employee regularly lifts and/or moves up to pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
• The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
• Operating in cold room environments is frequent.
