Summary: In this role, you will lead a team responsible for developing and executing custom member contracting strategies that reducespend, improve operational efficiency, maximize delivered value, and support member satisfaction. You will provide strategic direction across the full sourcing lifecycle, guide complex supplier negotiations, strengthen custom agreement portfolios, and ensure programs deliver measurable value for members and Vizient. You will also coach and develop Sourcing Executives, build consistent processes and training, and partner closely with Legal, Analytics, Sales / Client Executives, Information and Data Services, Operations, and other stakeholders to drive compliant, scalable, and effective execution. Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Sourcing Executives responsible for custom member contracting strategy, sourcing execution, supplier engagement, and value delivery. Develop and implement sourcing strategies, contract plans, customized agreement portfolios, and business processes that support member needs and networkobjectives. Guidecomplexsupplier negotiations and provide escalation support for contract language, terms and conditions, issue resolution, and supplier relationship management. Partner with Legal, Analytics, Sales / Client Executives, Information and Data Services, Operations, Compliance, and Category teams to ensure aligned and compliant execution. Lead new member engagement orientation, onboarding, and training for custom contracting programs. Track and evaluate member savings, value,financial impact, program performance, and revenue opportunities to ensureaccuratereporting and continuous improvement. Coach, develop, and manage team members by setting clear expectations, reinforcing accountability, and supporting performance and development. Identify sourcing opportunities, new sources of value, and revenue-generating strategies that improve network and member return on investment. Develop and implement tools, training, operating rhythms, and process improvements that create consistency and scalability across the custom contracting process. Use approved AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, documentation, communication, and team productivity while reinforcing responsible use and output validation.
Qualifications:
Relevant degree preferred. Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. 7 or more years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, contracting, supplier negotiations, supply chain, client/member engagement, or healthcare-related contractingrequired. Peopleleadership, team leadership, or direct management experience preferred. Proven ability to lead sourcing strategy, contract planning, supplier negotiations, and custom agreement portfolio development in a complex, matrixed environment. Strong analytical, financial, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate data into strategy, value, and measurable outcomes. Experience coaching and developing employees, setting expectations, managing performance, and supporting team effectiveness through change. Ability to influence internal stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and executive-level audiences through clear communication and sound judgment. AI Fluency - Experienced:Demonstratesbroadunderstanding of AI's business impact and effectively leads teams in adopting responsible AI-enabled ways of working.Proficiencyin Microsoft Office. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week in the office. Office locations include Chicago, IL or Irving, TX. Willingness to travel.
Estimated Hiring Range: At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.
