ROLE SUMMARY:
The Sr. Director, Simoa Product Management is responsible for defining and executing the product strategy and roadmap for Quanterix's Simoa product line, driving growth, innovation, and customer impact within this core technology area. This role supports the full product lifecycle, from market insight and product concept through development, launch, and lifecycle management, ensuring Quanterix delivers differentiated Simoa solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
The Sr. Director, Simoa Product Management will lead product management for the Simoa product line, including Simoa instruments, assays, consumables, software, and related workflow solutions. The role is accountable for translating customer and market needs into a focused product roadmap that supports Simoa growth, differentiation, and long-term lifecycle value.
The Sr. Director, Simoa Product Management partners closely with Commercial, R&D/Engineering, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Corporate Strategy to align Simoa product priorities with business objectives and market opportunities. This role provides senior product leadership for the Simoa product line while operating within the broader Product Management organization.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision:
* Define and lead the product strategy for the Simoa product line aligned with corporate growth objectives.
* Develop and manage the roadmap for Simoa products, including instruments, assays, consumables, software, and related workflow solutions.
* Identify new product opportunities, applications, and platform enhancements that strengthen Simoa's scientific and commercial leadership.
* Ensure Simoa product investments prioritize high-impact opportunities that support revenue growth and long-term value creation.
Product Portfolio Management:
* Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Simoa product line, including concept development, commercialization, and lifecycle optimization.
* Lead product planning across the Simoa portfolio, including instruments, assays, consumables, software, and Simoa-related workflow capabilities.
* Evaluate Simoa product performance, customer adoption, and market feedback to inform roadmap decisions and portfolio prioritization.
* Ensure continued innovation and differentiation within the Simoa product ecosystem, expanding applications and scientific capabilities.
Market & Customer Insights
* Build deep understanding of customer needs across research, clinical, and biopharma markets where Simoa solutions create value.
* Monitor industry trends in ultrasensitive biomarker detection, biomarker discovery, translational research, and precision medicine.
* Partner with commercial teams to translate customer insights into differentiated product offerings and platform enhancements.
Cross-Functional Leadership
* Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, operations, and commercial teams to ensure successful product development and launches.
* Partner with marketing and sales leadership to develop product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
* Ensure seamless coordination between product development, regulatory requirements, manufacturing, and commercial execution.
Innovation & Growth
* Drive innovation within the Simoa product line, including next-generation advancements in ultrasensitive detection, digital immunoassays, and Simoa-enabled workflows.
* Identify emerging technologies, partnerships, and market opportunities that expand the Simoa product line and strengthen competitive advantages.
* Support long-term Simoa platform evolution and development of new product capabilities that extend Quanterix's leadership in ultrasensitive biomarker detection.
Leadership & Organizational Development
* Lead, coach, and develop product management talent assigned to the Simoa product line.
* Establish clear processes for Simoa product planning, roadmap governance, portfolio prioritization, and product performance measurement.
* Mentor and develop product management talent while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer focus.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, engineering, or a related field.
* 12+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, commercial strategy, or related leadership roles within life sciences, diagnostics, biotechnology, or scientific instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience managing a product line or major product family that includes platforms, instruments, assays, consumables, software, or related scientific workflow solutions.
* Demonstrated success driving product commercialization, lifecycle management, and roadmap execution in research, clinical, or biopharma markets.
* Strong understanding of biomarker discovery, translational research, ultrasensitive detection, digital immunoassays, or related life sciences technologies.
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional product initiatives across R&D, commercial, operations, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing stakeholders.
*Advanced degree such as an MBA, MS, PhD, or equivalent experience.
* Direct experience with Simoa technology, ultrasensitive biomarker detection, immunoassays, or adjacent protein biomarker platforms.
* Experience launching and scaling products in global research, translational, clinical, or biopharma markets.
