Position Title: Material Handler
Wage: $18/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am-2:00pm QPS Employment Group is hiring a Material Handler for a company in Iowa City, IA. Great potential to hire opportunity for someone with forklift experience looking for steady daytime hours. Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Load, unload, move, and store materials throughout the facility - Handle recyclable, hazardous, and non-hazardous waste according to procedures - Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment - Label, sort, stage, and organize materials in designated areas - Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation - Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements - Communicate with team members and supervisors to keep materials moving efficiently - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area - Work around liquid consumer products and materials that may be messy or require cleanup Material Handler Requirements: - High school diploma or GED preferred - Previous forklift experience required - Previous warehouse or material-handling experience preferred - Forklift certification preferred; company can provide certification/training - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift - Comfortable performing physical work and being on your feet for the majority of the shift - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that may be messy at times - Strong attention to detail and safety - Ability to work independently and as part of a team QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
