Position Title: CDL Driver Wage: $22.00 per hour QPS Employment Group has a great CDL Driver position at a company in Mount Pleasant, IA. This is a direct hire position. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking stable employment, well-maintained equipment, competitive compensation, and strong earning potential. The company has very little driver turnover and is looking for professional drivers who are willing to make a long-term commitment to the position and its schedule requirements. CDL Driver Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on combination vehicles. - Transport freight safely and efficiently while maintaining DOT compliance. - Pick up and deliver loads according to dispatch instructions. - Properly secure loads in accordance with DOT regulations and company standards. - Maintain company equipment and immediately report maintenance concerns. - Communicate professionally with dispatch, operations, customers, and company personnel. - Provide exceptional customer service at all pickup and delivery locations. - Relay load information, delays, maintenance concerns, and operational updates in a timely manner. - Maintain accurate logs and required transportation documentation. - Work a minimum of five days per week or 40 hours unless otherwise approved. - Be willing to spend every other 34-hour reset (weekend) on the road. - Support company growth through professional representation and operational improvement suggestions. CDL Driver Requirements: - Valid Class A CDL. - Ability to meet DOT qualification requirements. - Two years of verifiable driving experience preferred. - Drivers with less experience may be considered based on driving record and employment history. - Strong communication and customer service skills. - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. - Ability to safely operate and inspect combination vehicles. - Ability to properly secure and transport freight. - Professional attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic. - Willingness to spend time away from home as required by route assignments. - Commitment to maintaining company equipment and safety standards. Compensation - Paid weekly - $22.00/hour base pay during the first 60 days - Base pay increase following successful completion of the probationary period - $2.00/hour Safety & Service Pay - Performance review after 60 days - Reimbursement for approved company expenses Per Diem Program - $60.00 per night tax-free per diem for qualifying overnight stays in the truck - Drivers typically receive approximately $300-$350 per week tax-free through the per diem program when qualifying - Per diem applies when the driver has logged on-duty time both before and after the overnight stay - Per diem is not paid when staying at a personal residence or housing outside the truck - Per diem does not apply during Hours-of-Service reset periods Earning Potential - The company offers a highly competitive compensation package that goes well beyond the posted hourly rate. - In addition to hourly wages, the company provides Safety & Service Pay, tax-free per diem, and additional incentive opportunities designed to reward performance and commitment. - The company's $60 per day tax-free per diem can add hundreds of dollars in additional take-home income each week for qualifying drivers. - The company has drivers who earn over $75,000 annually depending on experience, availability, and time spent on the road, with many experienced drivers exceeding that amount. - The company offers a strong earning opportunity for drivers who are willing to commit to the schedule and lifestyle associated with over-the-road transportation. - The company has very little driver turnover due to its commitment to quality equipment, operational support, competitive compensation, and treating drivers with respect. - The company believes that professional drivers are critical to its success and has developed a compensation structure that rewards safety, service, reliability, and performance.
