This is a full time, salaried position primarily Monday-Friday with the flexibility to support operational needs on weekends as needed. Located at Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest. Eligible for the Management Incentive Compensation Plan (MICP). Retention and relocation incentives included for eligible new hires.

As Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day laboratory operations at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. Additionally, you will participate in system committees regarding laboratory services and improvements. Other duties include conducting performance evaluations, overseeing regulatory requirements, CAP inspection and Joint Commission preparation, collaborating with multi-disciplinary leaders, performance improvement metrics, staffing and budgeting. The Laboratory Manager will directly oversee all lab supervisors and leads. This position is ideal for an experienced CLS who thrives under pressure and is looking to make a difference.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years experience in a laboratory, at least 1 of which in leadership

Required Certification/Registration:

  • CLS certification

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in Lab Leadership within a hospital lab setting preferred
