Job Summary Schedule: Per Diem Availibility to work 2 shifts per month, inclusive of 1 weekend shift. $95.84 hr - Per Diem Rate The APP is a licensed provider. The APP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners. Essential Functions -Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings. -Performs complete histories and physical examinations. -Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. -Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. -Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. -Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries. -Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population. Qualifications LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Education Master's Degree Physician Assistant OR Master's Degree Nursing required Licenses and Credentials Massachusetts Physician Assistant OR Advanced Practice Registered Nurse required Experience Inpatient hospital experience as an APP preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition & interpret findings. - Ability to maintain quality control standards. - Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. - Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. - Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
