Position Title: Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) Department: Special Student Services Location: Seaside School District Reports To: Program Coordinator FLSA Status: Non Exempt Bargaining Unit: Classified, OSEA Compensation: Classified Salary Schedule - RANGE T FTE: 0.40 FTE; 7.5 hours per day NW REGIONAL ESD'S MISSION STATEMENT: In partnership with the communities we serve, Northwest Regional ESD improves student learning by providing equitable access to high quality services and support. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: As a member of an educational team, the SLP-Assistant's (SLP-A) goal is to facilitate a child's/student's communication competence, which is critical for positive educational outcomes. Under the direction of the assigned Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), SLP-As implement on-going speech and language programs/services. SLP-As work with students who exhibit the full range of communication disorders, including those involving language, articulation (speech sound disorders), fluency, voice/resonance, and AAC system support. This position provides services to students with speech and language needs as determined appropriate by the SLP and within the scope of the license for an SLPA.
